how it works

With Roadify, you GIVE and you GET.

Use your cell phone to GET a real-time bus schedule or GIVE a report on the whereabouts of a bus so others will know when to expect it.

In New York, printed bus schedules are often inaccurate. With Roadify, though, you can find out when the bus is coming in real-time through your cell phone or mobile device, thanks to other riders. A better, more accessible schedule makes it easier to take public transportation, which means less traffic and pollution for everyone.

To start using Roadify right now, text "ROAD" to 95495.

It's that easy to join the Roadify community.

GIVE a bus

Roadify users help create a real-time schedule by GIVING a report on the location of a bus. Once Roadify knows where the bus is, we can let others know how long it will be until it gets to them.
To GIVE a bus location:
  1. Start your text with the word "GIVE"
  2. Add the bus route letter & number, i.e. B67
  3. Specify the end direction the bus is headed
  4. Note the current location of the bus

"give b67 kensington 7 Ave & Union St"

GIVE as many times as you like during your bus ride. Every GIVE earns you StreetCARma points and makes Roadify more accurate for other riders down the line.

GET a bus

Roadify allows you to GET a real-time list of parking spots near you as soon as you ask for it. Our automated system makes it easy to find available and soon-to-be-available spots, because your neighbors GIVE them.
To GET a bus schedule:
  1. Start your text with the word "GET"
  2. Add the bus route letter & number, e.g. B67
  3. Specify the end direction the bus is headed
  4. Note your location

"get b63 downtown 9 st & 5 ave"

Roadify responds with the next 3 MTA scheduled times for your stop plus a "Roadify ETA" if someone has already GIVEN on your bus.
If there is no Roadify ETA or if it changes by 3 or more minutes, Roadify sends you a Bus Alert if someone GIVES your bus while you're waiting. Bus Alerts keep Roadify accurate and allow GIVES to have immediate impact.
